Updates From Haiti |
Pastor Luke Weaver of the Village Lighthouse Church in Benton, New Brunswick took a work group to Haiti in February to place a roof on the Mariani Church. Because of a few challenges, they were unable to finish this job, but this didn’t stop Pastor Luke determined to find a way to return.
As he was in the process of trying to purchase his tickets for him and his nephew Dustin, a miracle happened. He received a call from a man who had borrowed $850 from him over a year ago, but had been unable to pay at that time. This man now wanted to return the $850 and the tickets Pastor was buying cost $875!!
The next challenge of needing a good welder also was directed by God. Pastor Luke approached Wayne Walker. Although Wayne though he had other plans, when he heard of the trip back to Haiti he knew this was where he needed to go.
The Lord also miraculously worked out fees and charges for their overweight luggage.
In their 12 day trip, the group hoped to finish placing both the roof on the Mariani church and also the roof on the “Lord’s Kitchen” in the Grace Village complex. The work went amazingly smooth. They are certainly a group of talented men.
The roof to the “Lord’s Kitchen” was finished by 8pm, April 2, the night before they were leaving. The group decided to bless a young man who had worked tirelessly with them on both roofs. He was a quick learner and always eager to do more. They decided to give this young man their portable welding machine and a helmet. This empowered him to have a new career as he works to support his family.
Grace International Missions in Haiti applauds the work done by the New Brunswick team.
